King’s College Videos
For more than three months, I’ve been working at my alma mater, the University of King’s College, to create multimedia for the King’s website. Mainly videos. When I got the job, the first thing I had to do was make a big list of potential videos and figure out what I wanted to convey about King’s (and how).
Elizabeth Yeo (the registrar) and Josh Bragg (the recruitment manager) had meetings with me and gave me their ideas as to what they wanted to see in the videos, and then off I went. I started with what I was most well-acquainted with: the King’s journalism program.
This video is the first one I completed:
After a month on the job, we realized that in order to finish the number of videos we had on the list by the time my contract ended, I’d need help. My fellow journalism grad, Kathleen Hunter, was enlisted and we divided the list of videos and conquered. She did interviews for me, I did interviews for her, we edited footage side-by-side and together we completed over thirty videos by the end of the contract.
Kathleen and I are colloquially known as ‘the dream team’.
So far, only the two videos embedded in this post have gone live, but the remaining videos will be put up and disseminated over the next few months.
Also: what you see in the videos are real, honest-to-goodness interviews. This is actually what people at King’s say about King’s. We didn’t tell any of these people what to say.
UPDATE: Here are some of the other videos I made.
